Streaming is here to stay, and any semblance of an argument against getting on board with streaming has disintegrated.
Embrace it even more than ever: your audience is almost certainly using streams as their main method of listening to music. The vast majority of Beatport & Traxsource downloads come from DJs, and if you just relied on them for your music sales, you would be in trouble very quickly.
Make sure you're delivering radio edits to streaming platforms and Shazam wherever possible. Fans that listen on streaming platforms often want radio edits and not extended mixes, you are not appealing to the DJ market here.
You can do this in the Label Worx system by creating 2 completely separate releases. These will require different catalogue numbers, so for the streaming, you can put S on the end of the catalogue number to differentiate them. We also have a handy Copy Tool to save you double entering data.
Once you have 2 releases created with the different edits, you can specify which ones to send to each store using the "Schedule" tool at the top of the release details page. You can use the quick set options to specify streaming only and download only. Just make sure you click "Set" once your preset has been selected to apply these settings.
Mix Name Formatting
To format the mix names, I would recommend still putting Original Mix for the Radio edits, even though the track time is shorter as Spotify & iTunes remove Original Mix from the mix names.
Note: If you do not see the "Schedule" tool on your release details page. Please contact Support and we can enable this for you.
